Another Dog!
How we got to five dogs.
DOGS

We had climbed up to 4 dogs, in the order they were acquired: Kirby, Suki, Athena and Noelle. That's a lot of dogs, so how the hell did we end up with two more?
The first "new" dog was a dog I've known for over 10 years. As the pandemic wore on, my eldest daughter and her husband were expecting a child. As we have a large house, we suggested they move in with us, take a couple of rooms, and have additional "grandparent hands" to help with the wee one when he arrived. This included their dog, Lilly.
Lilly is a miniature Australian Shepherd and pretty old, over 10 years old. She's an awesome dog but has long been the top dog, so moving in with four other dogs that already have established how the pack is organized created some stress.
At this point we had 5 dogs in the house. Anytime a delivery occurred it was chaos and took 10 minutes to calm the dogs down. I tried walking the dogs in shifts, but that got tiresome so I settled to walking only 3 dogs at a time.
Feeding and caring for 5 dogs gets expensive! As our backyard didn't have a fence, all outdoor excursions were via leash or closely monitored (Lilly and Kirby were very good to keeping to the yard).
We were in the throes of the pandemic so everyone was at home and many hands make light the work, or so they say...
